4:12 PM mchen: i'm going to a denim jort-skort-canadian tuxedo party saturday
where can i get denim shirts
for some reason i feel like you'd know this
I'm not sure if I should be offended, or flattered. Or both.

Sure, I wore denim shirts. Back in 8th grade.

I even had a denim skort. Back in 6th grade. I thought I looked like hot shit. And I could still run around on the playground. Two concerns that you have in life, typically not at the same time, but 6th grade is another story.

Either way, I had an answer. Apparently it took me 10 minutes to come up with it:

10 minutes
4:22 PM me: the GAPor GoodwillSara just got one at the gap

Oh brain, you have such useless knowledge.
Actually it's not useless, since Michelle needed the knowledge. I had it to give.

Go me! Now if only I can find myself a skort so I can successfully enjoy 'Business Casual Day'
at the office...

Ankle Time

From "YEAHHH Floooooor hockey on Mondays!" and "yeahhh we're winning this game!"

to

"*(%#*(7%(#*$9UI#$!!!!!!" (Good thing I had the hockey stick/cane to help me off the court.)

to
and

A day later
Ew!! Poor wee ankle did not like being used to go to work, stand on the train, or drive a standard.

Day 3, thinks are looking a little better thanks to a little RICE action:

Food items that have graced my ankle thus far: lots of corn (which became corn soup tonight), shredded cheese, and brown rice (all frozen).

Ok so maybe it doesn't LOOK better, but it feels a lot better, thanks in part to this tip from Melanie:
Yes, bearded men on TV do wonders for a swollen ankle! I wonder how she ever figured that out. Or maybe she was referring to putting one's feet up on a foot rest while laying on the floor. Mission 'Foot Above Head' solved!

Now just to get the ankle back into floor hockey shape.

Halloween 2010 - Pre-historic>

It's never too early to think about Halloween. Inspired by my close encounter with the NJ Dinosaur Park, I was thinking that maybe T and I could go as dinosaurs.

So of course I Google "dinosaur costume" to get ideas about how to make my own version. I'm hoping it involves foam, like el taco costume that I made up out of my own little head.

Should I be disturbed that all of the results that come up are related to children's dinosaur costumes?

PS. Of course T would be a dinosaur too... a T-Rex!!! AHahhahahahaha.

So Much

So much has been going on, where to begin?

Camping in the woods of New Hampshire.

A visit to Keuka lake, the land of my father's people.

Getting a new computer, though I'm still not completely set up. It's hard to turn on the machine once I get home.

A trip up to Maine for a little tubing.

Painting my nails pink [again].

Changing the background of the blog! I've seen this on a few other blogs and *loved* it, so I'm making it mine.

This Friday I'm taking the day off from work and I have no plans! What to do?

What have you been up to this summer?

Prehistoric Fun!

My favorite email that I sent at work this week (so far):

Hi Guys,
[Before our marketing sales pitch,] I would like to request that we visit the Dinosaur Park.

I'm hoping to see evidence of Unicorns.

Sincerely,
